First off, Happy 2019!!!

I want to take the time to wish each and everyone of you much Health, Wealth and Success!

Now, as some of you may already know, I’ve decided that this year I would be reviewing all of the gadgets that I purchase or receive this year. Big or small, electronic or not. I guess my main purpose is to see how much of what I gather in a year can be labeled junk or have an actual purpose to me.

I will also review in 2019 new locations, restaurants, venues etc…you know, regular nerd stuff.

I don’t want to call myself a prepper just yet, but I am also on the lookout for items that could help me in SHTF situations as I have a strong feeling that difficult times beyond any we’ve ever encountered before are upon us.

Or I could just be paranoid?

Either way, my first review is a gift that was given to me for Christmas, The Taclight T1100.

This nifty little flashlight is bright as sh!t. It contains a lithium charged battery that can give you a 200m visibility range. That’s crazy! It’s about 22 times brighter than other flash lights. It also comes with a spare chargeable battery. It also comes with both a wall charger and a car charger. The flashlight can also be powered by 3 AAA batteries.

**The one thing I do not know is how long they can last on a charge, or how long they can remain charged if unused.

Now at first glance after turning it on a playing it for about 15 minutes, here are my general impressions.

  1. As I mentioned earlier, the Taclight T1100 is very bright indeed. That little device is surprisingly blinding. Something I would recommend when camping. I would also keep one in my car. It comes with a portable case too that small enough to fit in the glove box or under the seat.
  2. The package says is waterproof. I did not test it in any body of water. However, I did throw it in the snow and left it there for about 5 minutes, it still works fine.
  3. The package says it is very durable and can endure a lot of damage…such as a truck rolling over it. You can also throw it in boiling water apparently… I’ll just take their word for it.
  4. The value is great for the price. Yes, I looked it up on amazon. I’ve seen tv ads for it before too. The Taclight T1100 goes for around $20 which I think is a bargain. I’ve even seen deals where you can get a 2 for 1.
  5. The flashlight comes with 5 modes. Low, High, Med, Strobe and SOS. Convenient if ever you find yourself in an emergency.
  6. It also comes equipped with an adjustable zoom motion. You can increase or decrease the beam size as desired, which is cool as well.

All in all, I really like this gift. It’s compact and very lightweight. Perfect for long excursions or SHTF situations. The flashlight itself has ridged points for self-defense. It’s no knife or gun, but it’s better than nothing. I strongly recommend this flashlight as a gift, for late night outdoor activities or as an emergency tool stored in your vehicle.
